Good article Chuck! This also reminds me of the Socialist Pilgrim experiment that "failed." When you take away peoples' motives for working hard, guess what folks? They stop working hard! Overtaxing, giving free handouts... none of that helps society... it only tears it down and encourages people to work even less hard.

Tina, how is the Kool-Aid? Obama stutters and stammers whenever his teleprompters are left behind. He likewise cannot remember correct facts or statistics (or creates his own when left to his own devices) I am sure you will demand an example: here is one. On Labor Day he was talking to one of his major contributors, a union, and got the crowd all stirred up with his campaign speech style of informing and really denied the truth as he rabidly accused the Republicans of having no plan. At that time there had been 38 plans submitted to Congress and all were not permitted to even get out of committee. If you watched the farce he called a speech to Congress on Wednesday, there were several people waving small stacks of paper during his diatribe. That stack of paper is a Republican Healthcare Proposal that will not likely see the light of day either.

While you are harping on the fellow in this video for his need for sympathies regarding Obama's health plans should he get kicked off his parent's plan you blathered about the unchecked free market system here in the US. Maybe you should take a trip to a close neighbor who "Checks" free market and report back on the success of the Cuban system. People are willing to drown trying to get to our free market system as they do all they can to flee Cuba. Maybe your new mantra for Hope and Change could be to "hope you get to live in Cuba and change your citizenship to Cuban". After all they have free health care, no free enterprise and big brother takes care of all their wants and needs except freedom. You might be able to exchange your passport with a Cuban who would do just about anything to come to this country. I understand there are many 1960's vehicles running the streets as well as other technology of the same vintage in a large part due to the strong encouragement of free market ideas promulgated by the benevolent and loving government.

The white guy with the 'fro isn't very smart. He is just reciting words of actual newscasters, but less convincingly. Work on that.. and stop telling Obama he messes up speeches using too much teleprompter. You can't even give a decent informative speech alone in your room and edited. Anyway, you might appreciate his ideas a little bit when you get kicked off your parents health care and can't get a job because of lob loss caused by unchecked free market capitalism.

When will Conservatives recognize the "bright shiny thing?" By attacking the speech and the curriculum, they've CONDONED a violation of law. People need to address the facts of an issue or risk coming off as partisan whiners...

The establishment of the Department of Education SHALL NOT increase the authority of the Federal Government over education or diminish the responsibility for education which IS RESERVED to the States and the local school systems. No provision of a program administered by the the Department shall be construed to authorize the Secretary or any such officer to exercise any direction, supervision, or control over the curriculum, program of instruction, administration, or personnel of any educational institution, school, or school system, or over the selection or content of instructional materials by any educational institution or school system, except to the extent authorized by law.

School Districts CAN determine this is proselytizing.

Democrats were accused of exploiting the death of Senator Edward Kennedy yesterday after immediately trying to use his name to revive President Obama’s flagging attempt to overhaul the US healthcare system.

Within hours of Mr Kennedy’s death on Wednesday leading Democrats were trying to turn it into a rallying point for healthcare reform — something that he had called the “cause of my life” — and suggested that any legislation should carry his name.

Sadly they just don't get it. No one cares enough to sabotage their own health care as a memorial. They don't even care enough to watch a Ted Kennedy tribute, "Ted Kennedy: The Last Brother" on CBS (0.9/3, 4.6M). In fact they would rather watch a rerun of "Americas got talent" or "bones" - which they did.

They are making a change now. This from FOX News quoting Whitehouse spokespersonNick Shapiro:

“We are implementing measures to make subscribing to e-mails clearer, including preventing advocacy organizations from signing people up to our lists without their permission when they deliver petition signatures and other messages on individual’s behalf. The White House e-mail list is made up of e-mail addresses obtained solely through the White House website. The White House doesn't purchase, upload or merge from any other list. … [A]ll e-mails come from the White House website as we have no interest in emailing anyone who does not want to receive an email.

If an individual received the e-mail because someone else or a group signed them up or forwarded the email, we hope they were not too inconvenienced. Further, we suggest that they unsubscribe from the list by clicking the link at the bottom of the e-mail or tell whomever forwarded it to them not to forward such information anymore.”

UPDATE.
They've disabled the email address "flag@whitehouse.gov". Senders to that address receive a bounce message referring them to the "Reality Check" page at whitehouse.gov where their messages can be more carefully controlled. On that page there is a link to "Contact Us" where you will find a form which requires only your email address and comments so as not to appear to be gathering data. I believe that, by law, this information must be retained. They taken care to caution (Please refrain from submitting any individual's personal information, including their email address, without their permission.) against submitting information about others without permission.

These recent changes clearly demonstrate that the first approach was not well thought out. In fact it was poorly conceived, qualifying it as an oboner.
